Two closes of freehold land known as “High Field Close” and “Town Butts Pingle” situate at Hartington in the County of Derby ———————–

Indenture made the twelfth day of June One thousand nine hundred and eight Between Henry Clulow of Bakewell in the County of Derby Fishmonger of the one part and Frederic Osborne Fitzherbert Bateman of Breadsall Mount Breadsall in the County of Derby aforesaid Esquire of the other part Whereas the said Henry Clulow is seised in fee simple free from incumbrances of the hereditaments hereinafter described and intended to be hereby conveyed and he has agreed to sell the same to the said Frederic Osborne Fitzherbert Bateman at the price of Two hundred and fifty pounds Now this Indenture witnesseth that in consideration of the sum of Two hundred and fifty pounds to the said Henry Clulow now paid by the said Frederic Osborne Fitzherbert Bateman (the receipt whereof the said Henry Clulow hereby acknowledges) The said Henry Clulow as beneficial owner hereby conveys unto the said Frederic Osborne Fitzherbert Bateman First All that close piece or parcel of land commonly called or known by the name of High Field Close containing Three acres three roods and thirty seven perches or thereabouts situate in the Parish of Hartington in the County of Derby aforesaid and numbered 606 on Map XXXII Sheet 4 of the 25 inch to the mile Ordnance Survey 1st Edition of the Parish of Hartington and which said close of land is delineated on the plan drawn in the margin of a certain Indenture dated the thirtieth day of November One Thousand eight hundred and eighty seven and made between the said Henry Clulow of the one part and William Redfern the other part and is thereon edged red And Secondly All that close piece or parcel of pasture land situate at Hartington Nether Quarter in the Parish of Hartington aforesaid known as “Town Butts Pingle” adjoining the road from Beresford Dale to Biggin and containing One acre and twenty two perches or thereabouts which said close of land was formerly copyhold of the Manor of Hartington and was then distinguished in Map 5 annexed to the Hartington Inclosure Award by the No 739 but was subsequently enfranchised by an Indenture dated the nineteenth day of April One thousand eight hundred and fifty six and made between the Duke of Devonshire of the one part and Thomas Millward of the other part both of which pieces or parcels of land first and secondly described were late in the occupation of John Wain and are now in the occupation of Emma Harrison and Ann Harrison To Hold the same untoand to the use of the said Frederic Osborne Fitzherbert Bateman in fee simple In Witness thereof the said parties to these present have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first Habove written
